Hi!
My name is Eva and I'm a student at Dawson College. My goal for these past few years has been to grow as an artist, experiment with my creativity, and make a lot of art! I have a passion for visual arts and learning new techniques is very exciting for me. My journey as an artist started when I was in kindergarten and I don't expect it to end any time soon. I hope to be able to share even more art in the future.
Artist Statement
This piece that was done for Integrating Activity was probably one of the most difficult pieces I've ever had to make. It made me dig deeper into who I was and really throw myself into the piece. This piece means a lot to me, as it's a journey of who I am as an artist. It shows that I'm all over the place, messy yet still managing to look put together.
The theme of my piece is self-growth, overcoming insecurities, anxiety, and things that have made me happy for the past few years. Those things vary from the colour purple that is evident throughout the piece and to characters like "Kirby" who make me happy because of how cute they are.
This piece is one of my favourites out of everything I've ever made. It's personal without revealing too much while also showing my creative side.
I've drawn clouds throughout the middle of the piece to create a division between the left side and the right side. The left side is meant to depict anxiety, stress and insecurities. The middle is meant as a transition period along with beautiful stormy clouds. The right side is meant to show a more colourful side of me meant to show my self growth and who I am today as compared to who I used to be. Hope you like it!
